Position : Tech Writer

Location : Chennai, India

Experience Required : 2 - 4 Years

Role Overview :


We are seeking a skilled Tech Writer to join our Chennai team and contribute to the development of high-quality technical documentation for our products and services. You will be responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining technical documentation and service procedures, working closely with engineering and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and manage technical and user documentation, including User Manuals, Upgrade Procedures, Factory Automation Manuals, Online Help, and Release Notes.

- Conduct interviews with users and technical staff to gather data and develop content for procedures.

- Research and convert technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Support testing and validation of new procedures, improving and developing content as needed.

- Follow documentation best practices, formats, and templates, and learn new tools and techniques to enhance documentation quality.

- Manage projects effectively, provide regular updates to stakeholders, assess risks, and maintain action trackers.

- Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to update documentation and implement changes quickly.

- Maintain high technical skills and participate in technical activities to stay current with assigned products.

- Make independent decisions, work efficiently in a matrix environment, and manage multiple stakeholders with conflicting requirements.

- Use clear, error-free English and apply writing best practices to produce high-quality documents.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- 2-4 years of experience with product documentation (hardware service procedures) in a multinational company.

- Proficiency in MS Word and Oxygen XML documentation editors; knowledge of other documentation tools is a plus.

- Strong project management skills and experience in a complex matrix environment.

- Good MS Excel skills for tracking tasks and actions.

- Flexibility to adjust work times, work with remote and local teams, and conduct meetings across different time zones.

- Willingness to support technical or project assignments and travel if required.
