Job purpose

The position will manage and assist the Chief Compliance Officer to lead the Compliance function within the organization and provide Regulatory compliance support to various functions, with a view to managing and mitigating regulatory and business risks arising from the business and operations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Implementation of risk-based framework for compliance, with focus of monitoring and initiatives on high-risk areas and control weaknesses or issues identified during past compliance risk assessments.
  • Conduct Overall Risk Assessment, Process Risk Assessment and Controls, Process Self-Assessment (including control testing plans as tabled to the Board)
  • Provide advisory on the definition of internal procedures by risk owners in relation to compliance risks/controls/requirements.
  • Review the Compliance Management System (CMS) framework in line with the Group/Regional timelines; attend the training dedicated to the Compliance Officers community.
  • Collect Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) on inspections, sanctions, significant regulations, litigations, training, complaints etc and update quarterly in the Group Regulatory compliance tool (“GRC”) . Ensure where gaps are identified, mitigation actions and reasonable timelines are agreed with the first line owners.
  • Perform and deliver the Control testing activities (according to PRA plan) & define mitigation actions, as necessary (and document in the GRC).
  • Implementation of processes and systems and leveraging technology to streamline the function’s routine activities and facilitate easy tracking
  • Review of products, processes and other areas which have a regulatory bearing, direct or indirect
  • Provide inputs to business proposals to ensure compliance and regulatory risks are restricted.
  • Carry out Annual Compliance Activities in line with the timelines agreed with Group/Region
  • Organize Compliance Week activities in accordance with Group theme; attend and participate in the annual regional meetings.


Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant
  • Postgraduate in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Company Secretary
  • Law Graduate.


Experience

8 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in Multinational Company preferably in Financial Services Industry.


Functional and Behavioral requirements

Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex concepts.

Stakeholder Management: Ability to get things done through informal and formal lines of influence and to leverage relationships to pursue objectives.

Communication Skills: Ability to listen and express clearly.
