About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven, creative, and technically strong Senior Manager – New Product Development (NPD) to lead the end-to-end development of innovative food, supplements, and cosmetic products. This is a critical leadership role that involves conceptualizing future-ready product lines, crafting breakthrough formulations, ensuring regulatory and nutritional compliance, driving packaging innovations, and managing testing and commercialization processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Ideation & Conceptualization

• Identify market trends, consumer insights, and white space opportunities across food, supplements, and cosmetic categories.
• Lead innovation sessions and translate consumer needs into compelling, differentiated product ideas.
• Conduct feasibility studies (technical, market, regulatory, and financial) for proposed product concepts.

Formulation & Recipe Development

• Develop robust formulations for food, nutritional supplements, and cosmetic/skincare products aligned with brand standards, efficacy, cost, and sensory appeal.
• Customize ingredients and actives to meet specific health, performance, or cosmetic benefits.
• Ensure all formulations comply with applicable regulatory standards and internal QA protocols.

Prototyping, Testing & Validation

• Plan and lead lab/kitchen trials, pilot batches, and organoleptic/sensory testing.
• Coordinate with R&D and QA for performance, safety, and stability testing.
• Use test data to iterate and enhance formulations for scale-up and shelf-life.

Packaging & Delivery Innovation

• Collaborate with packaging and design teams to introduce sustainable, functional, and consumer-friendly packaging solutions.
• Stay updated on global packaging innovations across wellness and beauty categories.
• Conduct packaging compatibility and stability testing.

Compliance, Nutrition & Claims

• Ensure compliance with food, supplement, and cosmetic regulations (FSSAI, AYUSH, BIS, etc.).
• Oversee nutritional and ingredient labeling, health claims, and product documentation in collaboration with legal/regulatory teams.
• Support product claims substantiation through data and testing when needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to align product development with business goals.
• Collaborate with third-party manufacturers, labs, and co-packers for trials, production, and commercialization.
• Support go-to-market planning with technical inputs and timelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Cosmetic Science, Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
• 4 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in New Product Development (preferably across FMCG, health & wellness, nutraceuticals, or personal care categories).
• Proven experience in the complete product development lifecycle — from concept to launch — across at least two of the three domains: food, supplements, cosmetics.
• Strong knowledge of functional ingredients, formulation science, stability testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with sensory testing, shelf-life studies, and labeling regulations.
• Highly organized with strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
