Position Overview:

The Linux IT Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting issues. This role requires a strong understanding of Linux operating systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:


•Provide technical support for Linux-based systems, both remotely and on-site.

•Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

•Monitor system performance and ensure the security and stability of Linux servers.

•Perform system updates, patches, and routine maintenance tasks.

•Assist with the installation, configuration, and deployment of Linux servers and applications.

•Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

•Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability.

•Provide training and support to end-users on Linux systems and applications.

•Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency issues as needed.


Qualifications:


•Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

•Proven experience as a Linux IT Technical Support Specialist or similar role.

•Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).

•Familiarity with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).

•Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).

•Understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS).

•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.

•Excellent communication and customer service skills.

•Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

•Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA, LPIC-1) are a plus.
