Job Overview

As an Application Support Engineer L1, L2, you will provide support for production applications in the banking and finance sector and will perform maintenance tasks such as application deployments in servers, troubleshooting network and application issues, capture application and system logs from servers. You will be a member of our support teams, where you will have a chance to work with our top-tier clients in Australia. Also will be responsible for communicating with external and internal stakeholders about the ongoing incidents and changes in their systems.


Job Specific Responsibilities (L1 & L2)

  • Application Support Engineers should accept customer-reported incidents and provide regular updates to customers via email, calls or in the incident management system (e.g. Jira or ServiceNow), according to ITIL standards.
  • Login to server environments to capture application and database error/event logs. (One or more of the following skills: Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, MS SQL, Reddis, RabbitMQ)
  • Perform application installations on production and test server environments using one or more of the following technologies: AWS, Azure, Github, and OutSystems according to the provided instructions.
  • Provide support for clients to troubleshoot/update their Content Management System (e.g. Siebel CRM, EPI Server, Strapi, WordPress or Zoho)
  • Monitor client systems regularly and ensure infrastructure-related issues are detected and alerted proactively.
  • Configure client-specific dashboards and email alerts if required using tools (e.g. AWS, Azure, Jira or ServiceNow).
  • Maintain application documentation in a centralised repository.
  • Ability to work in different shifts according to a pre-defined roster.


Required Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Core competency in production application support job role in the IT services industry for 2-5 years.
  • Prior experience in banking and the fin-tech domains will be an added advantage.
  • Development/configuration skills in Siebel CRM will be an added advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Working experience with either one or more of the following technologies: Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, MS SQL, Reddis, RabbitMQ
  • Sound knowledge and experience in one or more of the following cloud technologies: Azure, or AWS.
  • Working experience with DevOps and understanding of the DevOps concepts.
