Job Overview:

The Sales Associate Director will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve agreed sales target for FY 24-25 and develop a decent pipeline for FY 25-26. This role involves leveraging relationships with government and public sector clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in sales within the government sector preferably consulting / managed services across IT/Finance/Advisory etc and have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement strategic sales plans to achieve the sales target assigned for sector/geography – Central Government, Public Sector Units, Corporations, Public Sector Banks, Cooperatives, not for profits, multilateral organisations etc
  2. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key government and public sector clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  3. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including government tenders, projects, and contracts.
  4. Alliances and partnerships – Identify & nurture suitable business partnerships/alliances/consortium partners in alignment with service /sector focus
  5. Sales Forecasting: Develop and manage sales forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of sales performance.
  6. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  7. Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, adjusting strategies accordingly.
  8. Proposal Management: Oversee the preparation of proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company capabilities.
  9. Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients and stakeholders to secure contracts and agreements that align with company objectives.


Qualification & Experiences:

  1. Any graduate. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with a significant focus on the government and public sector & demonstrated success history.
  3. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a similar role.
  4. Strong understanding of government procurement processes and public sector project requirements.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior government officials and decision-makers.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading high-performance sales teams.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
