This position reports to

Global Product Portfolio Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB's offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries in Bangalore. Main stakeholders are local division within energy industries using library & for the end users.

You will be mainly accountable for:
Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunities
Owning technical and market specification for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following-up on portfolio performance
Leading the offer lifecycle management process, analyzing current offers, defining, and tracking performance metrics, and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability
Setting targets, monitoring offering costs and giving inputs to operations functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability

Qualifications for the role
  • You are engaged in market intelligence analysis considering current market segmentation and related product positioning. Identifies potential gaps in the portfolio against competition and new market opportunity
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience for the full Life Cycle of existing product portfolio under your responsibility, making decisions on offering obsolescence and end-of life to ensure current and future market requirements and to maximize profitability
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing effective and reliable libraries for automation systems
  • Strong knowledge of the automation code lifecycle, methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in managing virtual teams which are globally distributed
  • Overall experience 10+ years with at least 3-5 years of experience in automation code development, conversion, or management in a complex and dynamic environment with Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • You are at ease communicating in English
