Consulting (for clients):
- Lead vertical business consulting across multiple engagements.
- Understand the customer needs.
- Identify avenues to elicit customer requirements (eg workshops etc).
- During customer interactions understand customer pain points.
- Proactively identify business solutions which meet business objectives or overcome business challenge or enable customer to be more competitive.
- Conduct current state analysis versus the Industry landscape and identify the roadmap for the same.
- Identify the benefits for the customer to invest in this assignment.
- Create the solution framework.
- Interact with key senior stakeholders to set the agenda for the engagement.
- Guide the Lead Domain Architect to enable creation of an appropriate strategy.
- Review solutions to ensure that the same meets the customer objectives is based on organization benchmarks/guidelines and implements best practices and reusable assets.
- Present the IT roadmap and the value proposition to different stakeholders (business IT etc) to ensure buy in.
- Identify the horizontals for the solution Interact with various SMEs from the relevant horizontals on the boundaries and hand off for each of the technologies.
- Integrate the solution spanning multiple horizontals and defend the solution from a domain perspective.
- Negotiate on timelines and scope with customers.
Project Delivery:

- Review outcomes and interact with business customers to ensure alignment of pilot outcomes with market and customer needs.
Requirements review:
- dentify and define the assumptions and risks associated with any large scope programs either consulting or delivery.
- Monitor the key parameters that are critical to the program or customer relationship.
- Participate in PMR / governance meetings to conduct review of complex large programs / critical projects along with the vertical head to ensure that the risks and mitigation steps are identified and implemented.
- Set up the governance structure for programs/ projects including review mechanisms periodicity roles and implementation (programs including multiple large projects and components/ multi vendor).
Capability Building:
- Identify key focus areas for capability building within vertical domain teams as well as VDO based on competitive/industry landscape and explore alternative avenues for development of teams.
- Design and drive programs for grooming developing and certifying associates within domain teams (including taskforce identifications implementation plan review mechanisms).
- Identify the agenda for the domain workshops and work with vendors and architecture teams to ensure the creation of the workshop material.
- Liaison with academy when required.
- Delegate the creation and presentation of the workshop material based on the scale.
- Enable a higher industry/domain understanding quotient by conducting workshops with developers across projects.
- Conduct workshops for customers on emerging business/industry/functionality/process trends.
- Define and establish structure process and governance mechanisms for knowledge management and knowledge sharing platforms (assimilation classification and dissemination).
Business Development & Customer Relationship Management:
- Track new developed solutions and identify ways to package and sell them to current customers.
- Understand customer needs and pain points in depth and identify business opportunities that the customer could be approached for.
- Create a strategy and plan to increase penetration in existing customer base and increase mind share by building credibility.
- Build strong relationships with senior management members of customers.
- Invite customers for corporate events and follow up to ensure participation.
- Review customer satisfaction scores and come up with ways to address concern areas.
- Keep a track of changes in the customer organization and the impact that it would have on customer expectations from Cognizant.
- Adopt best practices in customer management.
- Represent Cognizant capabilities to customers based on the customer context.
- Seek budgets to drive brand promotion activities.
- Identify forums conferences analyst interactions to build industry awareness of Cognizant's DLSS offerings and brand promotion.
- Ensure participation of relevant industry representatives and analysts.
- Drive right representation in the analyst reports.
People Management:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team.
- Identify training needs and establish training plans for the team.
