Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain database systems, with a primary focus on MySQL databases, to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

- Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

- Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell or other automation languages like Python to streamline database engineering tasks and improve efficiency.

- Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand database requirements and provide technical expertise and support for database-related initiatives.

- Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively identify and address issues, and optimize database configurations for improved performance.

- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including access controls, encryption, and data masking, to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on production systems.

- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in database administration and cloud technologies, and recommend and implement new tools and technologies as appropriate.

Skills Required :

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on building, administering, and maintaining databases such as MySQL.

- Proven experience in developing automation scripts for database engineering tasks using PowerShell or other automation languages like Python.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or any other cloud providers.

- Strong understanding of database management principles, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
