Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in managing PostgreSQL databases, Aurora, and database migration projects.

As a Senior DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our database systems.

Responsibilities :

Database Administration: Manage and maintain PostgreSQL and Aurora database systems, including installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance database performance and scalability.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.

High Availability: Implement high availability solutions, such as clustering, replication, and failover mechanisms, to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of database systems.

Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data stored in the databases.

Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.

Database Migration: Plan and execute database migration projects, including schema migration, data migration, and application migration, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.

Database Monitoring: Set up and configure database monitoring tools to track database performance metrics, detect anomalies, and proactively address issues before they impact users.

Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and forecast future capacity requirements.

Implement scalability solutions to accommodate growing data volumes and user loads.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and facilitate troubleshooting.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to support application development, deployment, and integration efforts.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Relevant years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on PostgreSQL and Aurora databases.

- Hands-on experience with database installation, configuration, tuning, and administration.

- Proficiency in database migration techniques and tools.

- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified Database - Specialty) is a plus.
