Job Purpose :

The Instructional Designer at NICMAR plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Head of Learning Solutions to design and develop innovative digital learning programs and courses for the iNICMAR platform.

This position focuses on applying instructional design principles and educational technology to create engaging and effective learning experiences that meet the needs of NICMAR's diverse learner populations.

Job Outline :

- Work closely with the Head of Learning Solutions to conceptualize, design, and develop digital learning programs and courses for the iNICMAR platform, ensuring alignment with educational goals and objectives.

- Apply instructional design principles, learning theories, and best practices to create interactive and engaging learning experiences that enhance student learning outcomes.

- Collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, and other stakeholders to analyze learning needs, develop learning objectives, and outline content for courses.

- Design and develop instructional materials, including storyboards, multimedia elements, assessments, and learning activities that promote active learning and knowledge retention.

- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and educational technologies effectively to deliver and manage digital learning content on the iNICMAR platform.

- Conduct quality assurance reviews and usability testing of instructional materials to ensure instructional integrity, accessibility, and user experience.

- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in educational technology and instructional design to incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches and tools into course development.

- Collaborate with multimedia developers, graphic designers, and content creators to integrate multimedia elements and interactive components into course materials.

- Support faculty and instructors in the implementation and delivery of digital learning solutions, providing training and technical support as needed.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning programs and courses through data analysis, student feedback, and learning analytics to make data-driven improvements and enhancements.

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and project milestones while maintaining high standards of instructional design and content quality.

Job Specification :

Specific Skills :

- Proven experience in instructional design and course development, preferably in a higher education or professional development context.

- Strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning theories, and educational technologies.

- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and multimedia development software.

- Experience with curriculum development, assessment design, and educational content creation.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.

- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on designing engaging and interactive learning experiences.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage multiple projects.

Desirable Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or related roles.

- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and online course delivery methods.

- Experience in designing for diverse learner populations and understanding of accessibility standards.

- Knowledge of the infrastructure sector or civil engineering concepts is advantageous.

- Familiarity with learning analytics and data-driven decision-making in educational contexts.
