About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manager – License and Cloud Cost Optimization to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing software licenses and optimizing cloud costs across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with IT, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure compliance, drive cost efficiency, and maximize value for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
License Management
- Administer and track software licenses across the organization.
- Ensure timely procurement and compliance with licensing terms and policies.
- Consolidate licensing agreements to reduce redundancy and improve cost efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate risks of non-compliance with license agreements.
- Deploy and manage Software Asset Management (SAM) tools to monitor usage and support decision-making.
Cloud Cost Optimization
- Analyze usage across multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, IBM).
- Implement cost optimization strategies such as right-sizing, removing idle resources, and leveraging reserved instances.
- Use cloud-native and external FinOps tools to identify and deliver savings opportunities.
- Provide reports on cloud spend and align costs with organizational budgets.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with Finance to establish and monitor budgets for licenses and cloud services.
- Regularly report on spending and highlight cost optimization opportunities.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure SLA compliance.
- Lead external audits and support dispute resolution when required.
Key Qualifications
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in license management and cloud cost optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in software license management and compliance in large organizations.
- Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, OCI, and IBM platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud billing, reporting, and FinOps tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
