Position Summary

The Senior Manager for Global Technical Services (GTS) IT Systems plays a crucial role in delivering IT capabilities and services that support our GTS functions, primarily asset management. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to understand their information technology and digital enablement needs. This role involves gathering business requirements from various business units and functional groups and translating them into delivered technical solutions. Additionally, you will support the execution of Computer Systems Validation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Development and Customization: Lead the design, development, and customization of Maximo Application Suite solutions to meet specific business needs, including creating and modifying Maximo objects, MBOs, Java classes, automation scripts, and integrations.
  • System Integration and Configuration: Design and implement integrations between Maximo and other enterprise systems using tools such as REST APIs, Web Services, and Maximo Integration Framework (MIF). Perform complex configuration, customization, and enhancements to optimize system performance and functionality, including workflow design, BIRT reporting, IBM Maximo Mobile, and user interface modifications.
  • Data Migration: Design and execute Maximo data migration strategies using tools like IBM MIF, and ETL platforms ensuring accurate data transformation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, map, and validate data integrity, resolve complex technical issues during migration.
  • Technical Leadership and Support: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and support staff. Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards, and support daily operations and future enhancements as a functional and technical expert.
  • Application Support and Maintenance: Provide comprehensive Maximo production application support, troubleshooting and resolving technical Collaborate with business users and technical teams to ensure system stability, perform root cause analysis, and implement break fixes. Leverage expertise in SQL scripting, log analysis, and monitoring tools to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Performance Optimization and Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve the performance of Maximo applications, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of Maximo solutions. Identify and resolve defects and issues in a timely manner.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and system architecture diagrams. Develop an understanding of BMS policies and procedures related to computer system validation and IT compliance, and perform validation activities of Maximo applications, including generating computer system validation documents and conducting risk and impact assessments.
  • Collaboration and Business Analysis: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful project delivery. Collaborate with business representatives to understand business needs, challenges, and opportunities, and translate those needs into business and functional requirements, design, and implementation.
  • Upgrades, Patching, and Security: Lead or assist in Maximo Application Suite upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities to ensure the system remains current and secure. Implement and enforce security best practices within Maximo, including user access controls, data protection, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Data Analysis and Integrity: Analyze data to inform business decisions and find technological solutions aligning with business needs. Assist groups with data integrity analysis and assessment exercises.
  • Demonstrates a focus on improving processes, structures and knowledge within the team. Leads in analyzing current states, deliver strong recommendations in understanding complexity in the environment, and the ability to execute to bring complex solutions to completion.
  • Recognizes the potential impact on internal/external challenges on the future state success. Conveys and takes immediate action to correct any variation in quality, ensures accuracy and completeness of others' work outputs.
  • Demonstrates sophisticated analytical thought using various data sources and internal/external environment. Understands the broader implications of actions and perspective. Synthesizes results and links patterns and trends. Considers lessons learned and best practices in conveying to the team's understanding and knowledge

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 10-12 years of experience in Maximo development, including Maximo 7.6 and Maximo Application Suite.
  • Proven experience with successfully leading IT development and delivery projects.
  • Proven experience with Java, SQL, and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), Red Hat OpenShift, and REST APIs.
  • Proficiency in Maximo configuration, customization, and extension.
  • Strong understanding of Maximo database schema, relationships, and data structures.
  • Experience with BIRT reporting, IBM Maximo Mobile, workflows, and automation scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
