Responsibilities

  • Understand clients' business operations, accounting needs, industry requirements, and organizational structure across both Not-for-Profit (NFP) and For-Profit (FP) sectors.
  • Manage end-to-end accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and customized dashboards in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable industry guidelines.
  • Ensure proper classification and recording of transactions, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, including bank, credit card, intercompany, and other account reconciliations.
  • Handle payroll accounting, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, and other journal entries as needed for monthly financial reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to help clients better understand financial performance and trends.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and proactively communicating financial insights and recommendations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, supporting their learning and performance on client deliverables.
  • Ensure that all work meets internal quality standards and client expectations in terms of timeliness, accuracy, and service.
  • Manage multiple client relationships and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and client satisfaction is achieved.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards (U.S. GAAP), industry trends, and applicable regulatory changes impacting clients.
  • Participate in internal initiatives and projects to continuously improve service delivery, technology adoption, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; MBA preferred
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and financial reporting, including experience with both Not-for-Profit and For-Profit entities
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles
