Job Description – QA Tester (Manual & Automation) with BA Skills (4–6 Years Experience)

Position: QA Tester / QA Analyst

Experience: 4–6 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled QA Tester with strong hands-on experience in manual testing, automation testing, and basic business analysis. The candidate should be able to understand requirements, prepare test cases, execute tests, and ensure high-quality product delivery. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to clarify requirements and contribute to process improvements.


Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Perform manual testing across web and API applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automation test scripts.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Conduct regression, functional, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Identify, log, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables by validating performance, usability, and security aspects.
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce and debug issues.

Business Analysis

  • Participate in requirement-gathering discussions with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into clear, testable requirements.
  • Prepare requirement documentation (user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams).
  • Support the product and development teams with requirement clarifications.
  • Ensure traceability from requirement to test coverage.

Process & Collaboration

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Developers, Product, UI/UX, DevOps).
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and review meetings.
  • Assist in improving QA processes, tools, and standards.
  • Provide KT (knowledge transfer) sessions to junior testers or new team members.


Technical Skills

Manual Testing

  • Test case design & execution
  • Bug reporting & tracking
  • Functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
  • API testing using Postman

Automation Testing

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent)
  • Ability to write automation scripts (Java, Python, or C# – based on your tech stack)
  • Experience with CI/CD-driven test execution is a plus

Business Analysis Tools & Skills

  • Requirement documentation (BRD, FRD, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria)
  • Wireframing tools (Figma, Balsamiq — optional)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
  • Jira for task and defect management


Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and coordination abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently with an ownership attitude
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
