Application Development Advisor (Hyperion Planning / Essbase Developer)
Position Overview:
We are looking for an Application Development Advisor who is experienced in Hyperion EPM.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire for process improvement and automation. They will have excellent written and oral communication skills. This role is within the Finance Technology Solutions team and will be supporting critical projects.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Manage operations and end-user support of Hyperion EPM 11x platform: FDM, Planning, Essbase, Cloud equivalent version EPBCS, Essbase Studio, ODI, and Financial Reports
- Ensure smooth month-end close and forecast/outlook cycles through close partnership with Finance and IT business partners
- Troubleshooting integration and data issue across various Hyperion applications and boundary systems
- Coordinate operational handover with global support teams
- Proactively monitor and streamline tasks and procedures following company standards
- Work interdependently with technical infrastructure teams, application teams, and business units to ensure service delivery is meeting business objectives
- Establish and perform standard operational policies and procedures
- Coordinate monthly patching activities with Infra teams
- Monitor, analyze and tune Hyperion system performance as required
- Develop batch scripts, VB scripts, business rules, and Essbase calc scripts
- Participate in system testing, data validations, and stress testing of new enhancements/features
- Update/create end user training documents for Hyperion Planning/Essbase, EPBCS (including forms, grids, Smart View etc)
- Take on various roles regarding project initiatives while following strict deadlines
- Creating Allocation script , troubleshooting
Good to have:
- HPCM / PCMS( Cloud version of HPCM)
Required Experience/ Qualifications:
- 11+ years of System Administration experience in Hyperion EPM version 11 or above within a Fortune 500 company: Hyperion EPMA, Workspace, HFM, Hyperion Planning, Essbase (BSO/ASO), FDMEE/ODI, Essbase
- Studio, Smartview, Cloud components of EPBCS, EDMC, FCCS is a must
- Experience in cloud EPM solutions (eg. Oracle Cloud, Anaplan, OneStream, etc.
- Expertise in Essbase calc scripting and MaxL batch scripting
- Working knowledge in relational database technologies and administration, preferably MS SQL Server and Oracle
- Knowledge of Hyperion application architecture and design principles, including infrastructure, table structure, protocols, and delivered objects
- Excellent analytical, design, and organizational skills, with strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Must have a strong desire for process improvement and automation
- Manage time efficiently with the capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently under minimal supervision
- Experience with high levels of accountability; demonstrated initiative, innovation, and flexibility
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Must be a team player and be able to build consensus with others team members
- Hyperion certification is preferred but not required
Required Experience & Education:
- 11 13 years of experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, MIS, or related experience
