Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Development Senior Advisor to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing strong production support, analyzing issues, and working with team members and external resources to determine root cause and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver solutions within the specialty environment to improve overall COE goals and metrics
  • Oversee the analysis, design, development, and release of new capabilities in an agile development environment
  • Transform the work structure for getting IT work completed, generating increased efficiency to lower the cost of IT projects
  • Resolve escalations and report back to operations leadership as needed
  • Lead the implementation of portfolio projects and contribute to technology transformation from a 15-year-old technology platform to a future-state technology
  • Participate in cross-departmental IT initiatives
  • Create an environment where new talent can feel welcome and have opportunities for growth
  • Establish the creation of teams across several Specialty locations
  • Manage and drive resolutions for high-priority production support issues
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with application development teams and key business partners
  • Partner with delivery organizations to drive production best practices and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate with delivery teams on warranty transitions of application changes and new functionality implemented
  • Review the design and development of existing and new IPM IT applications prior to production implementations to ensure application stability and performance
  • Develop subject matter expertise for end-to-end application integration points
  • Ensure that all delivery and production changes meet stakeholder expectations
  • Lead or support incident/problem management issues to identify and eliminate root cause
  • Closely collaborate with vendor resources and synergize the team to deliver on service level agreements
Qualifications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills across applications and database technologies
  • Previous experience supporting cloud-hosted applications
  • Strong ITSM background and understanding of best practices related to incident, change, and problem management
  • Technical background in database technologies (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB), Python, UNIX, Pega
  • Technical background in supporting various server platforms (Linux, Windows, and Virtualized server environments)
  • Understanding of agile application development life cycles and supporting test environments
  • Experience with REST services
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring tools to ensure adherence to service level agreements
  • Experience with application capacity and performance tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline strongly preferred
  • Typically eight or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of five years of experience in application development or production support
