In tackling the hardest problems, we believe that working together will produce better solutionsJob DescriptionBuilding an Observability and Insight platform is a crucial task, and as a technical director leading this effort, you'd wear many hats.
This role demands hands-on expertise, with a requirement for robust technical skills and the capacity to build trust and collaborate effectively with other technical teams.
RequirementsYou will:
Act as the technical architect for the Observability Engineering Team, providing hands-on guidance in designing and implementing innovative solutionsLead the development of key components, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Lead the development and execution of technical strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall company vision and product roadmapCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the platform seamlessly into the existing infrastructure/services.
Mentor and guide engineering team members, sharing technical expertise, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance cultureWork closely with other teams (DevOps, Security, QA) to ensure Observability platform aligns with overall organizational goals.
Contribute to a friendly and helpful company cultureHelp deploy, monitor, and tune the performance of our softwareParticipate in peer code review, which we believe results in a higher-quality productFollow security best practices (don't worry, we'll tell you what they are)You are someone who:
Proficiency in a development language, the ability to interact, and gain the respect of senior developers across multiple software and data disciplines.
Extensive background in software engineering, with a focus on application design, code writing, and active participation in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Has worked and led the technical team to build observability platformExhibits uncompromising integrity.
Pays attention to detail.Thinks critically about complex technical problems.
Can work independently, while also being an effective member of a team
You have:
Required Minimum Experience 13 YrsHands on experience in Rust and C/C++Experience with JIT compilation.
Experience in debugging system level code using gdb debuggerGood understanding of Linux builds and deploymentProven experience with Linux system programmingProficient in Linux kernel, at least familiar with 2-3 core subsystems (CPU scheduling, file system, network, I/O, memory management, etc.);Professional experience in computer architecture and operating systemsA bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent training or work experienceExperience in Cryptography and PKI is a plus
