Ast. Manager, BU Running & Credibility Sports - Emerging Markets_

  • Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
  • Supports Director BU Running & Credibility Sports EM, in executing the EM short and medium-term objectives for both the categories. Responsible for delivering across all KPIs.
  • Implement Global Concepts-to-Consumer strategies in a locally relevant way for EM by working closely with the Merchandising Manager Running & Credibility Sports in each Cluster within Emerging Markets, considering different consumer needs and distribution channels.
  • Support the seasonal BU range building and alignment process within the parameters set by the EM CTC Range Architecture team (Category Input, ONE EM Range selection, Definition of Mandatory range, internal GTM Meetings, etc.)
  • Responsible for building a product range for the dedicated Category that fulfils the needs of the EM Hub and Clusters, which is competitive in terms of completeness, structure, price and margin.
  • Supports in gathering relevant commercial input in terms of consumer needs, market particularities, and channel needs to influence the development of EM BU strategy.
  • Collaborate regularly with global counter parts to identify business opportunities in the market and to maximize net sales and profitability (within global and EM strategic parameters)
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for range selection and alignment process within the parameters set by the EM CTC Range Architecture team to meet the KPI's
  • Responsible for all aspects of merchandising the range including segmentation to meet all KPIs inc. efficiency, productivity, overlap, top line, margin
  • Assist the BU with tracking and data analytics for ONE EM RANGE KPIs
  • Act as system champ for the BU (RMA, GTMHub, sellin tools, etc.)
  • Take charge of all BU ranging activities in RMA and adhere to seasonal timelines as per guidance set by the MOPS Team
  • Responsible for regular sell thru tracking of key campaigns and franchises.
  • Accountable for the Forecast analysis for the Category as part of the IBP process
  • Responsible for Commercial Input into Global by conducting regular competition analysis of Running & credibility sports
  • Understands the EM consumer retail environment including distribution points, share of buy,competitor ranges and pricing strategies
  • Responsible for all KPI reporting of the Category
  • Provide adhoc support to the BU as required
  • Support major product launches and presentations providing necessary sales support to ensure an effective sellin launch process
  • Key Relationships:

  • Global Running & CS BU

  • Compliance and adherence to EM Ranging Milestones (RMA)
  • Adherence to global deadlines providing meaningful Category Commercial Input
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advance excel and powerpoint knowledge. Strong communication skills.- In addition the individual must demonstrate:

  • Passionate about sports, preferably product ranging specific with knowledge of sport
  • Consumerfocused with deep product and range understanding with an excellent ability to balance brand and commercial aspects and build channel specific GTM solutions
  • Exposure to merchandising approach including assortment planning, FPST, Open to Buy, launch and exit calendars, rate of sales, and also to VM planning & execution
  • Ability to guide optimal range building as per segmentation strategy and option plan (product type, gender, price points) for different channels
  • Proactive (engaging & impactoriented) mindset, ability to think endtoend
  • Ability to work in agile environment with different culture and nationalities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commercial acumen: Very good numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication (both written and verbal), presentation and facilitation skills
- (small and large groups)

  • Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required
  • Requisite education and Experience/ qualifications
  • University degree in business, ideally with Marketing and sales focus or equivalent professional experience;
  • 3+ years Merchandising experience including Sales and Retail exposure, ideally in sporting goods, fashion or other youth culture brands
  • Fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), proficient in MS Office
  • Experience in the sporting goods/lifestyle industry is preferred
