Overview :
ZapCom is seeking a Software Engineering Manager.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers to deliver high-powered, cutting-edge software applications.

You will work collaboratively with Product Owners, vendors, and business stakeholders to architect and create enterprise-level solutions that are both scalable and robust.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, have full-stack technical knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage projects, workflow, and development roadmap to keep the development team organized, efficient, and optimally running.
  • Provide vision, design and oversight, and creates and implements architectural strategy, align resources within crossfunctional teams to build highquality products and services.
  • Guide the team in best practice for agile development including estimating stories, grooming backlog, and breaking down epics.
  • Provide guidance on technical direction, perform technical analysis, and make recommendations.
  • Work with product owners and business stakeholders to define feature requirements and set priorities.
  • Mentor team individuals to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs and develop their careers.
  • Perform staff administration duties such as performance reviews, job descriptions, and help in the recruiting and hiring process.
  • Eliminate impediments to allow the development team to focus on their task.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal information.
  • Interface with others in a professional manner and be a trusted go to person.
  • Coordinate feasibility and overall analysis of engineering projects.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot delivery issues in a timely fashion.
  • Weekly reports on the status of all project initiatives to the stake holders.
  • Ensure delivery of the project, on time, on budget and to the quality standards as expected by customers.
  • Hire best talent and coach them to grow in career path.

Required Skills /Experience :
years of industry experience with strong Experience in "Program management" or "Project Management".

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT/API/web/mobile applications and platforms.
  • Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated key project management deliverables from planning > execution > control & monitor and closure (should be able to articulate approach/activities performed in each phase.
  • Strong people skills, with distinctive ability to motivate and influence people without authority or a direct reporting relationship.
  • Coach and support project team members with tasks assigned them.
  • Excellent organization of time and ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to speak to customers and delivery team members daily as well as good written communication skills to create detailed reports.
  • Well organized and good at managing multiple tasks.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to interpret information from numerous sources to prepare and present reports.
