Role: AI Head of Research (Full Time)Location: Santa Clara, CA
Role Overview:
As the pioneering Head of User Research, you will be responsible for crafting the research framework for our state-of-the-art AI products. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, your objective is to decipher and anticipate customer requirements, integrating these valuable insights into our product strategies and business design. Your leadership will foster a culture of empathy, creativity, and substantial impact by seamlessly blending human experiences with AI technology. This pivotal position plays a crucial role in steering AI product innovation, ensuring that our solutions are deeply rooted in user insights and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and champion the vision and strategy for the initial Research & Insights organization
  • Create and communicate a compelling vision for this new department, including outlining research strategies, OKRs, and roadmaps
  • Build an exceptional research team, nurturing a culture of curiosity, empathy, and rigor
  • Supervise essential research projects, collaborating with various partners and research agencies globally
  • Act as a foundational member of the team, establishing strong partnerships with Product Design and Business units to ensure that cohesive insights drive innovation and customer interaction
  • Promote user insights through a blend of quantitative and qualitative research methods to shape product strategies and organizational decisions
  • Introduce research initiatives that place the customer at the core of our strategic pursuits, employing a diverse set of research methodologies
  • Amplify the customer's voice through compelling storytelling and empathetic communication, fostering a customer-centric culture across the organization

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of user research experience, showcasing a portfolio rich in impactful insights and strategic contributions
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role, with a demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performance research teams
  • Proficiency in various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a talent for effectively applying discoveries
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML landscapes, preferably with involvement in creating AI-driven consumer products
  • Solid grasp of user research methods (both qualitative and quantitative), UX/product design principles, and marketing strategies
  • Exceptional aptitude in navigating ambiguity, adapting to organizational changes, and influencing diverse leadership styles
  • An advocate for diversity, with experience in global research and vendor management on an international scale

Preferred Qualifications:
Direct involvement in the development of AI tools or products, showcasing a talent for merging technical innovation with user requirements
