JOB DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Independently handling FPI tax and international tax assignments including

Taxation of Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) and Alternate Investment Funds (AIF)

  • FPI's and AIF's Annual Tax Return Filing
  • Managing the AIF's tax computations prepared for NAVs of AIF
  • Managing other tax compliances for FPI and AIF
  • Withholding tax advisory and certification
  • Advisory on international tax issues
  • Structuring of inbound investments
  • Handling Certifications required for foreign payments/remittances
  • Representation before tax authorities

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

4 - 8 years experience in

  • Dealing with FPIs and FIIs in particular and the financial services sector more generically
  • Working with the Financial services sector including FPIs
  • Income tax (domestic and international tax)
  • Interpretation of double tax avoidance agreements
  • Taxation of capital gains and interest income
  • Income tax compliance, planning and advisory for FPIs
  • Representation before tax authorities
  • Working with International tax structuring
  • Experience in/exposure to FEMA will be an added advantage
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills including legal/technical drafting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical and process skills
