Howwill you make animpactWe arecurrently seeking a skilled and experienced Accession Officer tojoin our team.The Accession Officer is responsible for receivingregistering and processing patient samples in the laboratory. Thisrole requires meticulous attention to detail excellentorganisational skills and the ability to maintain high standards ofquality and accuracy throughout the accessioning process. TheAccession Officer will collaborate closely with laboratorypersonnel ensuring that samples are appropriately labelled trackedand prepared for testing. Whatwill you get todo
  • Receive and log inpatient samples accurately and promptly ensuring the properidentification and labeling of each samplecontainer.
  • Enter relevant patient and sampleinformation into the laboratory information system (LIS) orlaboratory management system (LMS) with precision and
  • Monitor the movement of samples within thelaboratory from accessioning to testing to ensure samples areappropriately routed and accounted for at eachstage.
  • Maintain strict adherence to qualitycontrol procedures following standard operating protocols tominimize errors and maintain accuracy in sampleaccessioning.
  • Record and maintain detailedrecords of sample accessioning activities including any deviationsor discrepancies encountered during theprocess.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory ofsample collection materials ensuring an adequate supply ofnecessary items to facilitate smoothaccessioning.
  • Properly handle and store samplesfollowing established guidelines and protocols to ensure theintegrity and stability of the samples during storage andtransportation.
  • Adhere to all relevantregulatory guidelines and company policies related to the handlingand processing of patient samples maintaining compliance withapplicable laws and industrystandards.
  • Collaborate effectively withlaboratory personnel clinicians and support staff to facilitateseamless communication and efficientworkflow.
  • Identify opportunities for processimprovement and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiencyand accuracy in sampleaccessioning.

Skillswe are lookingfor
  • Bachelors degreein Medical Lab Technology DMLTBsc MLT.
  • Provenexperience in sample accessioning laboratory operations or asimilar role within the diagnostic or healthcare industry ispreferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory informationsystems (LIS) or laboratory management systems (LMS) isadvantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail andability to manage multiple taskssimultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational andtime management skills to prioritize workeffectively.
  • Familiarity with regulatoryrequirements and guidelines for sample handling andprocessing.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a diverseteam.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintainingconfidentiality and data privacy.
  • Willingnessto work in shifts asrequired.
