Technical Trainer – Solar Module Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Trainer to design, deliver, and evaluate technical training programs for our solar module manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, shopfloor training, and safety practices, along with strong facilitation skills to upskill operators, technicians, and engineers.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, training delivery skills, and industry knowledge, ensuring employees are equipped with the right skills to meet production, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery & Facilitation

• Conduct classroom and shopfloor training for operators, engineers, and technicians in solar module manufacturing.
• Deliver training on manufacturing processes, equipment handling, preventive maintenance, quality systems, and lean practices.
• Provide hands-on machine/equipment demonstrations and simulations.
• Adapt technical content for employees at different skill levels.

Content Development & Customization

• Develop training modules, SOPs, and manuals specific to solar manufacturing.
• Translate technical concepts into simple, practical learning content.
• Update training content regularly to align with process/technology upgrades.

Skill Development & Knowledge Transfer

• Create and maintain a Skill Matrix; evaluate employees against it to identify training gaps.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to new facilities as they are established.
• Maintain training records in digital formats/LMS timely and accurately.

Assessment & Evaluation

• Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure learning effectiveness.
• Monitor on-job performance post-training and provide refresher sessions where needed.
• Maintain training MIS, attendance, and evaluation records.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with plant managers, production heads, and HR to identify training needs.
• Coordinate with equipment OEMs, external vendors, and skill development agencies for specialized training.
• Support employees in continuous skill development and upskilling initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field (mandatory).
• Experience:
• 6–8 years in technical training within manufacturing/ renewable/ semiconductor/ solar industries.
• Hands-on knowledge of solar module manufacturing process, equipment operation, quality systems, and lean practices.
• Proven track record in shopfloor training, skill development, and technical facilitation.

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge of solar module manufacturing processes (cell cutting, tabbing & stringing, lamination, module assembly, testing, etc.).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment operations & preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Six Sigma basics, ISO standards.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to design training content (manuals, SOPs, e-learning modules).
• Proficiency in using LMS tools, digital training aids, and assessment methods.
• Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with shopfloor staff, supervisors, and managers.
