Purpose of the role:

The IT Business Partner – SCM & Logistics will act as a strategic technology advisor, ensuring IT solutions align with business objectives for Supply Chain and Logistics functions. This role focuses on optimizing supply chain operations and logistics process optimization while ensuring compliance with Pharmaceuticals industry regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

IT Strategy & Business alignment

  • Act as the primary IT liaison for Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics teams, translating business needs into strategic IT roadmaps.
  • Define and drive the digital transformation strategy for supply chain operations, focusing on end-to-end visibility, cost optimization, and automation.
  • Ensure IT systems comply with Indian pharmaceutical regulations (CDSCO, NPPA), global GxP standards, and data integrity policies to support compliance and operational efficiency.

Technology & Digital Transformation Initiatives

  • Lead and enhance SAP S/4HANA SCM, and IBP (Integrated Business Planning) solutions to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Drive warehouse automation by leveraging IoT, RPA, RFID, and AI/ML-based demand forecasting.
  • Enable real-time tracking of raw materials, inventory, and finished goods through supply chain analytics and predictive modelling.
  • Implement advanced logistics solutions, including third party logistics integrations, last-mile delivery tracking, and smart route optimization to enhance operational efficiency.

Process Optimization & Performance management

  • Optimize inventory management, demand planning, and supplier collaboration by leveraging IT-driven insights and analytics.
  • Support serialization, Track & Trace, and regulatory compliance using blockchain or digital ledger technologies to ensure transparency and security.
  • Improve order fulfilment rates, and reduce logistics costs through the implementation of digital tools and automation.

Vendor & Stakeholder management and IT Governance

  • Work closely with SAP partners, IT vendors, and third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless integrations and maintain high system availability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and finance teams to drive cross-functional supply chain improvements.
  • Establish and enforce strong governance for IT projects, budgets, & vendor SLAs related to supply chain Ops.

Education background:

B.E/B.Tech/MCA in computer science and Masters' in Supply Chain Management.

Core Competencies:

  • 10+ years of experience in SCM & Logistics IT leadership roles within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA SCM & any Supply Chain Forecasting tool (IBP, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, etc).
  • Hands-on experience with automation technologies including RPA, AI/ML, IoT, and logistics analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GxP, US FDA, EU GMP, CDSCO, and serialization compliance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, project management, and vendor negotiation skills.
