About the Orange Movement

Launched in 2022, the Orange Movement is a global initiative led by IIX to integrate gender equality and climate action into financial markets. As part of this movement, IIX introduced Orange Bonds, the world's first gender-lensand climate-focused asset class designed to:

• Mobilize $10 billion in capital markets by 2030
• Impact 100 million women, girls, and gender minorities
• Position women and gender minorities as key players in climate mitigation and adaptation

The Orange Movement operates through strategic partnerships, financial innovation, and advocacy to transform global finance into a more inclusive and sustainable system. The program is currently funded by Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for the next three years, providing a strong foundation for growth. The Head of the Orange Movement will be responsible for executing the current program effectively while securing additional funding to expand its reach and impact.

About the Role:

The VP of Partnerships & Fundraising at IIX is a critical leadership role responsible for building and expanding the Orange Movement's global network, securing diversified funding streams, and cultivating strategic partnerships to ensure the movement's long-term sustainability and impact. This role develops and executes comprehensive fundraising and partnership strategies, cultivates relationships with key stakeholders, manages membership programs, secures significant financial commitments, and collaborates closely with the capital-raising team to link fundraising with impact investment opportunities. This high-impact role is responsible for:

• Develop and execute a global fundraising and partnership strategy
• Cultivate relationships with corporations, foundations, impact investors, and government agencies
• Manage membership programs.
• Secure multi-year financial commitments
• Work closely with IIX's capital-raising team
• Expand the Orange Movement's global network
• Diversify funding streams
• Represent the Orange Movement to potential funders and partners
• Oversee partnership management
• Report on fundraising and partnership progress

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement a comprehensive global fundraising strategy aligned with the Orange Movement's mission and strategic objectives. 
• Identify diverse funding sources (corporations, foundations, impact investors, government agencies, individual donors), setting fundraising targets, and outlining specific fundraising activities.

2. Partnership Development & Management

• Cultivate and manage relationships with corporations, foundations, impact investors, government agencies, and other strategic partners. 
• Identify potential partners whose values and goals align with the Orange Movement, develop partnership proposals, negotiate agreements, and manage collaborative projects.

3.Corporate Sponsorships

• Secure multi-year financial commitments from corporate sponsors, developing mutually beneficial sponsorship packages that offer value and recognition to corporate partners while supporting the movement's activities.

4. Major Donor Cultivation

• Cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals and major donors, developing personalized engagement strategies to secure significant philanthropic contributions.

5. Institutional Fundraising

• Develop and manage relationships with foundations, government agencies, and other institutional funders, securing grants and other forms of institutional support for the Orange Movement's programs and initiatives.

6. Impact Investor Engagement

• Work closely with impact investors to connect the Orange Movement's fundraising efforts with impact investment opportunities, creating innovative financing mechanisms that blend philanthropic and investment capital.

7. Membership Program Management

• Develop and manage membership programs to engage individuals and organizations committed to the Orange Movement's mission. 
• Design membership benefits that provide value to members and foster long-term engagement and support.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with other teams within IIX, including programs, marketing, communications, and finance, to ensure alignment and maximize synergies. 
• Work closely with the capital-raising team to link the movement's fundraising with impact investment opportunities.

9. Fundraising Reporting & Analysis 

• Track and analyze fundraising performance against targets, providing regular reports on progress to leadership and stakeholders. 
• Monitor fundraising trends and adjust strategies as needed.

10. Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of fundraising and partnership professionals.
• Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.

11. Budget Management

• Manage the budget for fundraising and partnership activities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Raise at least $5M from corporate partnerships and investors within three years.
• Secure 10+ corporate sponsors and institutional donors annually.
• Build a membership base of at least 500 engaged organizations by year three.
• Develop and execute at least four major fundraising campaigns per year effectively and efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

 Education:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field. A Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy, or International Development) is preferred.

Experience: 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, partnership development, and/or membership management, preferably in the non-profit, impact investing, or international development sector.

Expertise:Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising and partnership strategies at a global level.Proven track record of cultivating and managing relationships with corporations, foundations, impact investors, and government agencies.Experience in developing and managing membership programs that drive engagement and provide value to members.Experience working with capital-raising or investment teams to align fundraising efforts with investment opportunities is highly desirable.

 Communication Skills: Exceptional public speaking, writing, and storytelling abilities.  

Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate vision into action and drive measurable results.
 Collaboration & Leadership: Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
 Location: Fully remote within APAC region with availability to travel.
