About the company - Our client, is a trusted, respected Pharmaceutical Company in the field of DERMATOLOGY and they are into developing, manufacturing and creating MEGA BRANDS which shall lead in their respective therapy class, embarked on its journey on 2003, with a single-minded focus to improve the quality of life of those suffering from skin diseases.

Currently our client is engaged in marketing around 25 DERMA BRANDS with PAN INDIA operations.

Job Summary:

As the Zonal Business Manager, you will lead and drive business growth across multiple regions, managing a team of Regional Business Managers (RBMs). You will be responsible for zonal-level strategy, team performance, business expansion, market development, and key stakeholder engagement to ensure consistent achievement of sales targets and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Zonal Sales Leadership:

Own the zonal P&L and drive sales and business objectives across all reporting regions.

Team Management:

Lead a team of Regional Business Managers; indirectly manage ABMs and BEs. Ensure performance, development, and succession planning.

Strategic Execution:

Implement business strategies at a zonal level aligned with corporate goals; ensure regional adaptation and execution.

Market Expansion:

Identify and penetrate potential markets across the zone. Facilitate new product launches and drive adoption.

Stakeholder Management:

Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), stockists, channel partners, and large hospital chains across regions.

Business Hygiene & Compliance:

Oversee collections, minimize expiry/breakage, and ensure adherence to company processes and compliance norms.

Recruitment & Training:

Lead recruitment for RBM and below roles. Facilitate zonal-level training, onboarding, and capability building.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with marketing, logistics, finance, and HR teams to enable seamless execution across the zone.

Performance Monitoring:

Review zonal sales trends, competitor activities, and field metrics. Take corrective actions to optimize outcomes.

Reporting & Review:

Provide detailed performance reports and insights to senior leadership on a regular basis.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Graduate (B.Pharm preferred); MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus
  • Experience: 10+ years in pharmaceutical sales; minimum 2-3 years as RBM with a proven record of team handling across multiple regions
  • Skills: Strategic leadership, team building, business acumen, KOL engagement, territory planning, data-driven decision making
