The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in legacy data assessment, modern cloud-based data architecture, and hands-on experience with AWS migration and ETL tools.

Job Description:-

Job Title: Data Migration & Modernization Engineer.

Employment Type: Full-Time.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Data Migration & Modernization Engineer to lead and support enterprise-level data transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in legacy data assessment, modern cloud-based data architecture, and hands-on experience with AWS migration and ETL tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Discovery & Assessment

  • Inventory and analyze legacy data assets including files, databases, and batch outputs.
  • Evaluate and document data types, structures, and interrelationships.

Migration Strategy & Execution

  • Define and implement migration approaches: lift-and-shift or transform-and-load.
  • Develop data mapping rules to align legacy fields with new schemas.
  • Plan and execute data cutover strategies: real-time sync, phased loads, or big-bang migrations.

Modern Data Architecture

  • Design and implement modern data solutions (e.g., migration to DynamoDB).
  • Define and build data lakes, warehouses, or lakehouses using AWS services.

Data Ingestion & Quality

  • Build scalable data ingestion frameworks.
  • Perform data cleansing and ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.

Tools & Technologies

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data querying, validation, and profiling.
  • Experience with AWS DMS for data migration.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica, and Talend.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data migration and modernization projects.
  • Strong understanding of relational and non-relational data models.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud services and modern data architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
