Job Title: Procurement (Solar) Location: Chennai Industry: Renewable EPC Experience: 8-12 Years in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Commercial roles within the Solar / Energy Industry Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Procurement: Identifying and securing materials like solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and other Balance of System (BOS) components. Vendor Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing performance. Technical and Commercial Evaluation: Evaluating vendor quotations based on technical specifications, pricing, and commercial terms. Cost Optimization: Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the procurement process. Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, lead times, and procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials. Documentation: Managing purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and other procurement-related documents. Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, project management, and other teams to align procurement activities with project needs. Compliance: Ensuring procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations. Market Research: Staying updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies in the solar industry. Skills Required: Technical Knowledge: Understanding of solar PV systems, components, and their specifications. Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with vendors. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays or quality issues. Knowledge of Supply Chain Management: Understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process. Familiarity with Procurement Software: Experience with procurement systems and tools. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or Supply Chain Management. 8+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in the solar industry. Experience with contract management and negotiation. Knowledge of renewable energy industry standards and regulations
