Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or regional equivalent education required, preferably in a related discipline,

such as Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or Business or 8+ years of relevant

professional experience.

• Additional related certifications are a plus.

• Master’s Degree a plus.

Experience:

• 5-7 years of related job experience.

• ITIL v3 Foundation.

• Windows Certifications.

• Red Hat certification a plus.

• Experienced in shell scripting.

• Experience with job scheduling and alert management.

• Experience with Windows & Linux operating systems.

• Experience with VMware virtual environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Update Services.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, oral, written, and team skills.

Language:

• English (fluency in reading, writing, and speaking).



The Senior Systems Administrator provides technical leadership to the systems administrator and

associate systems administrators as well as direct contributions on Wintel, Linux and other servers

deployed within the Dana environment.

Major Responsibilities:

• Operational Management

o Manage and provide guidance to junior team members.

o Anticipate, identify, troubleshoot, mitigate, and resolve hardware and software issues.

o Leads security monitoring and implements security response procedures.

o Designs and develops backup procedures and leads the recovery of failed systems.

• Service Management

o Responsible to manage the provisioning of new assets for budget, licensing, and compliance.

o Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings,

directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

o Manages, maintains, and administers the servers.

o Analyzes system logs and identifies potential issues.

o Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.

o Performs routine audits of systems and software.

o Provides third-tier support and answers technical queries.

o Identifies systems performance bottlenecks and makes recommendations.

o Leads the evaluation of tools and components.

• Business Change

o Coordinates with network engineering, business application, and database administration

functions.

o Plans, introduces, and integrates new technologies.

o Assists in projects and programs ensuring effective support in operations.

o Provides technical guidance and consulting.

o Installs computer hardware, operating systems, and layered products.

o Leads capacity planning and management.

o Develops disaster recovery plans.

• Procurement and Management Support

o Conducts research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards.

o Participates in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors.

o Leads the planning and development of policies and procedures.

• Maintenance

o Applies OS patches and upgrades regularly.

o Configures and adds new services as necessary.

o Provides second-tier support, including troubleshooting and correcting systems and security

problems

• Solutions Development and Implementation

o Develops, documents, and maintains policies, procedures, and training plans.

o Ensures the integrity and security of enterprise data.

o Monitors and manages the security of supported business applications.

• Strategy and Architecture

o Works with IT Architecture to develop implementation plans.

o Leads capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals.
