The Senior Revenue Accountant will report to the Revenue Accounting Manager and is responsible for implementing revenue policies, reviewing revenue transactions, and ensuring that revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP. This is a challenging, highly visible role that requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

About this role* (Responsibilities)

  • Analyze revenue transactions to evaluate data integrity and proper treatment of transactions within the ERP system NetSuite
  • Prepare revenue month-end journals and associated reconciliations by working with different areas of the business to ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with Company policies and US GAAP.
  • Prepare and review revenue month-end journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP by working cross-functionally with other parts of the business.
  • Collaborate with GL Accounting, Billing Operations, and F&S teams to support all close related activities through NetSuite
  • Drive cross-functional projects and changes affecting Revenue Accounting
  • Support the design, implementation, and execution of key revenue controls and changes upstream in NetSuite
  • Assist in developing dashboards for variance, trend and other analysis to identify issues and resolve as required.
  • Support whitepaper documentation and continuous process improvement for Revenue policies, controls, and systems
  • Drive special projects, including system migration/enhancements and implementations by partnering with the EATs (Enterprise Applications & Technology) team

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 4 plus years of revenue recognition experience, preferably industry experience with in-depth knowledge of accounting standards
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting
  • Strong knowledge of revenue accounting standard ASC-606 and contingencies, loss recoveries and guarantees standard ASC-450
  • Ability to perform tasks related to revenue recognition, loss recoveries, contingent liabilities and apply relevant accounting guidance
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large sets of data (Eg. Macros, Power Query, Power BI etc)
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce and Snowflake.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in complex scenarios and topics to team members and managers in a clear and a logical manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and at various levels within an organisation

Special Sauce* (Nice to Haves)

  • Experience with Data visualisation, looker, Hex and/or other analytic tools.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
