Senior Manager I â SW Development

This is a people leader role wherein you would lead a team of highly talented software engineers in delivering market leading Ultrasounds Solutions.  You will drive innovation for medical ultrasound products and be a key leader for technological growth, software competency and team advancement to develop medical products that are helping to save lives every day.  The Sr. Manager ensures that the software team delivers on its commitments and works with the program manager, cross-functional partners, and other product teams to coordinate feature development and integration.

This is a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity for a Senior Software Manager in the Ultrasound R&D New Product Software Engineering organization.  You will be working in our Ultrasound R&D group located in our Bangalore, India site.

Your role:

  • Lead software team throughout the development process in support of product releases that meet customer needs, cost goals, quality goals, and schedule constraints.
  • Execute on the organizationâs strategy, providing clearly defined success criteria and levels of accountability for individuals in the team. Manage issues, decisions, and risks, remove impediments for the progress of the teams and act as escalation point.
  • Mentor and develop high performing team; goal setting and performance appraisals
  • Foster an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment by motivating, challenging, and coaching employees
  • Stimulate and encourage ideas, give others a voice, recognize contributions, encourage and acknowledge feedback and act upon it, communicate the organizationâs vision, build and share networks
  • Ensure communication is occurring both within the team as well as with other engineering teams and other functional areas. Transparently communicate project progress on a regular basis to stakeholders and sponsors
  • Perform various management tasks including budgeting, performance appraisal, salary administration, hiring, and employee coaching and performance management.
  • Interact with multiple businesses; consult with business leaders, stakeholders, and architects to deliver monitoring solutions
  • Consistently deliver high quality software while continuing to advance the level of software craftsmanship
  • Actively manage the portfolio of resources, tools, and training to accomplish current and future key objectives. Manage the needed capabilities whilst developing and maintaining a long-term view on the required competences and knowledge.
  • Execute on continuous improvement in processes and ways of working to achieve operational excellence.


You're the right fit if:

  • 12 + years of experience with BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience software development experience - UI & Applications
  • 5+ years of experience leading software development teams both as a technical and people leader, ideally in a Medical Device or HealthTech environment
  • Experience with modern software development techniques and practices
  • Experience in deploying new software development methodologies, technologies, and tools
  • Interest in continuous improvement in processes and ways of working to achieve operational excellence, open to new ideas, welcome changes as opportunities to improve
  • Experience with Agile practices, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is preferred
  • Experience in End-to-End design, development, delivery, and maintenance of medical products / healthcare solutions is a pluy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to act as key liaison with other functions and organizations to drive business results
  • Ability to influence and inspire others, inspiring commitment through communication and interpersonal skills, sensitive to organizational cultural differences.
  • Change management experience
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to encourage team members to make and act on decisions of their own
  • Self-motivated individual with good organizational and time management skills
