Technical Presales Engineer

Job Overview:As a Technical Presales Engineer specializing in Cloud services, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by providing technical expertise and support during the pre-sales phase. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, design cloud solutions, and present compelling proposals tailored to meet clients' needs. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their business objectives, technical requirements, and challenges.
- Conduct discovery sessions to gather information about existing infrastructure, applications, and workflows.
Solution Design:
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized cloud solutions that align with customer needs and business goals.
- Design architecture diagrams and technical proposals outlining the recommended cloud solutions.
- Provide technical guidance on the selection of cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, security, and management tools.
Technical Presentations:
- Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of proposed cloud solutions.
- Clearly articulate the value proposition and competitive advantages of the recommended cloud offerings.
- Address technical inquiries and concerns raised by customers during presentations and meetings.
Proof of Concept (PoC) Development:
- Lead the development and execution of proof of concept (PoC) projects to validate the feasibility and performance of proposed cloud solutions.
- Work closely with customers to configure, deploy, and test cloud environments according to their use cases.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and engineering, to ensure alignment between customer requirements and technical solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings in the cloud market.
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance the overall technical expertise of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a technical presales or solutions engineering role, with a focus on cloud technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including virtualization, containers, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with customers and establish trusted advisor relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to design innovative solutions.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for cloud orchestration and deployment.
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and proposals.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, presentations, and conferences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong team player with a proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
