Job Purpose
Key Account Manager will drive revenue through institutional sales (Project Sales / Key Accounts) of Birla Pivot brand of tiles, ply, doors, bath ware & other products. Will establish and maintain strong organisation to organisation level relationships with key clients and influencers, including builders, contractors, and architects. The Key Account Manager while devise and implement strategies to consistently increase our market share in the relevant product category in the region under her/his responsibility.
Key Accountabilities & Support Actions
Sales Target Achievement
• Set ambitious sales targets and develop effective strategies to achieve and exceed them, leveraging insights gained from client interactions and market analysis.
Client Engagement
• Develop and execute strategic plans for engaging with key clients including builders, contractors & architects.
• Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and attend networking events.
• Provide comprehensive product education and training to clients, highlighting the features,
benefits, and applications of our tile products to drive sales and increase market share.
Relationship Management
• Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers within the top 30 Builders and Developers in the region to position our company as their preferred supplier of tiles and related products.
• Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Project Coordination
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and logistics, to coordinate
project requirements and ensure seamless execution from order placement to delivery.
Market Intelligence
• Keep a track of all significant projects and customer in the market
• Stay updated with marketplace wrt competition, products, trends, pricing etc. so as to devise
appropriate strategies to harness opportunities and mitigate challenges
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor competitor activities within the construction and design industry.Negotiation & Contract Management
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to maximize profitability while maintaining
competitive advantage and customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Forecasting
• Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics, analysing data to identify
areas for improvement and optimization.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in building material sales in institutional/ key account segment, preferably with top tile/ bath ware brands.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and sales cycles with specific expertise in tiles and related products.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the specified geographical location with existing relations among developers, builders & project managers in the region.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region to meet with clients and attend industry events.
