Role - Lead – IP Licensing, EDA, Third Party Design Services (Techno commercial)

Purpose:

The Lead is responsible to support internal requirements, R&D cost objectives, and enables cost effective solutions for spending across the regions for LTSCT. Responsible for oversight on performance metrics related to Quality, Delivery, and Cost, and have overall responsible to analyze and execute decisions regarding supplier selection, overall performance, and problem resolution/crisis management.


Areas Of Responsibility:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for intellectual property (IP) licensing,

Electronic Design Automation (EDA), third-party design services, and IT infrastructure.

Define clear objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and milestones to measure the success of initiatives in each area.

2. IP Licensing Management:

Lead the evaluation, acquisition, and licensing of semiconductor IP assets, including patents,

  • copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • • Negotiate licensing agreements with third-party companies, ensuring alignment with business
  • objectives, favorable terms, and legal compliance.
  • • Monitor and manage existing IP licenses, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and
  • maximizing the value of IP assets.


3. EDA Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) vendors, evaluating tools,
  • technologies, and services to support semiconductor design.
  • Assess EDA tool requirements, prioritize tool adoption, and coordinate procurement and
  • licensing activities.
  • Drive collaboration with EDA vendors to address technical challenges, enhance tool capabilities,
  • and optimize design flows.

4. Third-Party Design Services Coordination:

  • Coordinate third-party design services, including outsourcing of specific design tasks or entire
  • projects, to augment internal design capabilities and accelerate time-to-market.
  • Evaluate potential design service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure successful
  • execution of projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal design teams and third-party partners, ensuring
  • seamless integration and efficient project delivery.


5. Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for IP licensing, EDA tools, third-party design services, and IT
  • infrastructure, tracking expenses and ensuring cost optimization.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget targets, identify variances, and take corrective
  • actions as needed to achieve financial objectives.
  • Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to senior
  • management, highlighting key trends, opportunities, and risks.


6.Industry Trends Monitoring:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments in IP
  • licensing, EDA, design services, and IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities, potential
  • partnerships, and areas for innovation.
  • • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on industry
  • trends and market dynamics.


Experience and Qualification:

  • 10+ years of experience in similar setup
  • Must be able to work independently, create and adhere to schedules
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work with teams spread across geographic locations
  • Should be able to seek help proactively

Qualifiers for the Role / Necessary Experience and Skills Required for the Role:
