Job Title: General Manager - Liquor Stores Retail

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Reports to: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

The General Manager (GM) for Liquor Stores Retail in Bangalore will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, managing staff, driving sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of inventory management and compliance with local regulations. The GM will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, financial management, and business development to ensure the stores' profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of all liquor stores in Bangalore.
  • Ensure all stores are well-stocked, clean, and organized.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficient store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to liquor sales and retail operations.
  • Staff Management:
  • Recruit, train, and manage store managers and staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure proper scheduling and workforce planning to meet business needs.
  • Sales and Customer Service:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
  • Manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and losses.
  • Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the stores.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
  • Analyze sales and financial data to make informed business decisions.
  • Marketing and Business Development:
  • Develop and execute marketing plans to promote the stores and attract customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure all stores comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to senior management.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in retail management, preferably in the liquor industry.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple retail locations.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in inventory management and POS systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
