Job Summary

Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's sustainability initiatives and strategies. This role involves working across departments to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability within the organization. The Sustainability Manager ensures that the company adheres to regulatory requirements and industry standards while advancing the organization's sustainability goals.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategy Development and Implementation:

  1. Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  2. Set measurable goals and targets for sustainability initiatives.
  3. Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability goals.


Project Management:

  1. Lead and manage sustainability projects from inception to completion.
  2. Coordinate with various departments to ensure the integration of sustainability practices.
  3. Oversee the implementation of sustainable practices in operations, supply chain, and product development.


Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:

  1. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  2. Keep abreast of new regulations and industry trends.
  3. Prepare and submit required environmental reports and documentation.
  4. Knowledge of Environmental Compliance and ability to integrate these into the company's operations.
  5. Expertise in ESG criteria and Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR).
  6. Compile and complete the sustainability sections of the business annual report.
  7. Consult with external consultants to develop and publish ESG reports.


Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

  1. Develop and implement CSR initiatives that align with the company's sustainability goals.
  2. Engage with local communities and stakeholders to support CSR activities.
  3. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of CSR programs and initiatives.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives.
  2. Communicate sustainability goals and progress to employees, management, and the public.
  3. Foster partnerships with sustainability-focused organizations and community groups.


Education and Training:

  1. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on sustainability practices.
  2. Promote a culture of sustainability within the organization.
  3. Encourage and facilitate employee involvement in sustainability efforts.


Data Collection and Analysis

  1. Collect, analyze, and report data on sustainability metrics.
  2. Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  3. Use data to drive decision-making and improve sustainability performance.


Resource Management:

  1. Optimize resource use to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  2. Implement energy-saving initiatives and promote the use of renewable energy.
  3. Manage the company’s sustainability budget.


Reporting:

  1. Prepare sustainability reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Ensure transparency in sustainability reporting and communication.
  3. Highlight achievements and areas for improvement in sustainability performance.


Preferred Candidate:


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  2. Minimum 6-10years experience in sustainability management or a related field.
  3. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability best practices.
  4. Expertise in Environmental Compliance and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
  5. Experience in preparing and completing business annual reports.
  6. Strong knowledge of ESG criteria and BRSR.
  7. Experience in consulting with external consultants for making and publishing ESG reports.
  8. Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  10. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  12. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  13. Certification in sustainability (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) is a plus.
