Job: SubstationPhysical(Primary)DesignEngineer.MainresponsibilityincludescreatingElectricalprimarydesigndeliverables.Projectsrangeinsize,complexity,andvoltageclassfromsmalldistributionequipmentupgrades tolargetransmissionprojects.Thispositioncaninfluencethefutureoftheresiliency,reliability,andeconomicoperationoftheelectricgrid.

Responsibilities

:

Positionmayincludeleadingorexecutingthefollowingassignments:

·Preparationofproposalsandscopedevelopment,includingconceptualdesignsandexecutionplans.

·Prepareengineeringcostandman-hourestimatesandschedules.

·PreparedetailedengineeringdrawingsforEHVprojectsforAIS&GISsubstationsfrom33kVto765kV.

·PreparedesigntosupportdetailengineeringsuchasGeneralArrangementsPlan,Elevations,AboveandBelowgradeConduitlayouts&connectiondetail,Groundinglayouts&connectiondetail,Lighting&Lighteningprotectionwithrespectivedetails,BillofMaterialsandDesignCalculations.

·PrepareCalculationswithrenownedsoftwaresuchasCDEGS,ETAP,Wings,Mathcad,VisualLighting&others.

·PrepareAIS Busbardesignandreports.

·Coordinatedesignactivitieswithotherdepartments(Civil/Structural,Networks,TransmissionLine,etc.).ReviewingdesignsandattendingvirtualmeetingsandcoordinatingwithClients.

·Coordinatingwithteammembersandmonitoringprojectschedules,submittingwithquality.

·ProducedetailedelectricalsubstationdesignpackagescompliantwiththerequiredclienttechnicalstandardsorIEC/IEEE/NESC.

·CoordinatedesignactivitieswithotherBurns&McDonnellGlobalPracticesandOfficeLocations.

·Provideguidanceandmentoringtolessexperiencedteammembers.

·Developandimproveprocesses,tools,and/orimplementnewtechnologiesintothedesignprocess.

·Performqualityreviewsforotherengineersanddesigners.

·Demonstratecreativity,foresight,andjudgmentinanticipatingandsolvingproblems.

·Assistwiththeadvancementanddevelopmentofdepartmenttoolsandworkflowstoincreasetheefficiencyofdesigns,specificationdevelopment,andprojectexecution.

·Undertakeotherdutiesandresponsibilitiesasmaybeaskedofthispositionbymanagement.

·Participateintraining/meetingstoaddressspecificorganizationalinitiatives.

Qualifications

Qualification:

Batchelor’sormaster’sdegreeinelectricalfromanaccreditedinstitution.

Minimumthreeyearsofexperience&maximumexperienceoftenyearsinSubstation.
