Purpose of the Role

Seafood & Meat (SFM) category manager will be responsible for end to end P&L and category growth. The incumbent is also responsible for assortment, effective pricing, indenting & merchandising of SFM across the region for Hypermarket, Supermarket and omni channels. They will also manage the relationship with Shop-in-Shop (SIS) partners who either operate butcheries in our stores and/or supply packed products as well. 

Principal Responsibilities

This principal responsibilities of the role will entail the following.

Develop and execute business plan for the SFM category

Review the consolidated budget for the category to ensure it meets the business objectives and set the direction for the Circles

Continuously improve the assortment with the right mix of local ranges, national best sellers and new products

Negotiations with vendors and pricing to be the best priced retailer in the catchment

Indenting, inventory Management and dump

Liasoning with operations team to ensure that stock is available and merchandised in an excellent manner

Deliver the margins agreed with the Category Head.

Own the relationship with our SiS partners and work with them to ensure growth of the category

Education and Experience

Total 5+ years of experience

Min 2 years experience in handling Seafood & meat category roles (sourcing and/or merchandising)

Graduate degree in Fisheries / Agriculture / Others 

Well versed with sourcing practices and processes of SFM
