JOB TITLE: Product Designer/Detailer Valves&VSG

DEPARTMENT: Application Engineering

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The Designer performs duties necessary for preparing and maintaining technical engineering drawings using CAD software.

2. The Designer is responsible for aiding engineers in assuring the consistency of drafting practice and formats on part prints issued to manufacturing locations.

3. This person is responsible for developing designs and drawings for various Global valve train products, working from CAD files and must be able to use component stack-up calculations, tolerance analysis 
and layouts to determine appropriate designs.

4. Work output is generally detailed part drawings for 
prototype and production parts.

4. The Designer is responsible for providing designs and drawings that 
meet customer requirements, and can be manufactured.

5. The designer is responsible to manage and 
maintain design release systems, standard and procedures.

Product Designer/Detailer

REQUIREMENTS:
• Create Tenneco drawings based on engineering, quality and manufacturing input.
• CAD engineering software (Creo experience required, Catia or NX experience desired)
• Personal computer skills in database management, spreadsheets, computer 
programming and word processing.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing principles.
• Maintain product design database/PLM and product history
• Enter product design data into the appropriate system like Windchill PDM and SOPS.
• Follow drafting standards and guidelines, with minimal direction.
• Must be able to read and understand various drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to translate drawing text to other languages
• Must be able to fully dimension parts following approved drafting conventions.
• Maintain accurate revision level information on all part prints.
• Maintains and updates design and product numbering standards.
• Declaration of the product materials in IMDS
• Creation of customer specific models and drawings in different CAD systems and project 
environments
• Modell and CAD checking
• Transfer of customer specific CAD data
• Setup approval at customer end and clarify re-work potential design faults
• Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.
