Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Systems Governance Specialist(Business Process Specialist) within CAT Information Technology. The Financial Systems Governance Specialist partners with stakeholders across Caterpillar to optimize financial processes, develop and maintain best in class systems and tools, and enhance governance and controls to support various accounting and finance cycles.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India

What you will do

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Actively participate in blueprinting, review, and approval of the design elements for existing and future financial systems.
Assist extended team with projects and change requests intake.
Serve as a subject matter expert that will provide direction during process and system design activities and assist in resolving business process issues arising from financial systems implementations.
Work with business partners to standardize, simplify, and optimize total cost of ownership.
Liaison between technology and process teams and the Accounting and Finance Process Owners, representing the Process Owners during financial systems design/re-design activities.
Definition of internal control requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control documentation or other statutory / local requirements.
Guide and/or validate process documentation as part of the ERP’s template(s) solutions.
Work on a matrix-oriented organization, and lead small cross functional teams.
Assist / lead the integration of focus facilities, new acquisitions and ventures, and/or new clients into corporate practices.
Developing methodology and providing education to accounting and non-accounting staffs and cross-functional teams.

Candidates will have:

5+ years of relevant job experience in Accounting / Finance, IT or related field
• 4-year degree in Accounting or Business degree or Technical degree with Accounting experience or equivalent
• Demonstrates problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Flexibility to work in a global environment
• Must demonstrate high levels of initiative, leadership, good judgment, the ability to communicate effectively, a broad understanding of accounting business processes, process improvement
• Understanding and practical knowledge of SAP and other financial systems.

What you will have

he position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, IT, or business related degree and 8-10 years of progressively responsible job related experience.

Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts; corresponds with a global audience and avoids technical jargon when communicating with business partners

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems; ability to document and convey resolution alternatives with understanding of stakeholder perspectives.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify root cause of problems based on prior experience and current research; organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy a situation.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; demonstrates expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards. Strong knowledge of M365, specifically SharePoint & Microsoft Power Platform Aptitude for process design and technology, with a focus on controls Self-starter, able to work independently and adaptable to changing priorities. Collaborative and team-oriented personality with ability to build and foster relationships throughout the organization. Understanding of accounting, business processes, financial systems and enterprise operations Good working culture with a shift that starts from - 01:00 PM -10PM IST
