Job Purpose:

The Sales Head of the Logistics Department is responsible for driving the overall sales strategy and execution to achieve business growth and revenue targets. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales plans, identifying new market opportunities, and expanding the company's client base within the logistics sector. The Sales Head will lead and mentor the sales team, foster strong relationships with key clients and partners, and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering tailored logistics solutions. Additionally, this role requires a focus on optimising pricing strategies, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align sales efforts with operational capabilities, ultimately contributing to the companys profitability and market leadership.


Job Duties:

  • Develop a new business prospect listing to ensure that future business development is planned.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and securing business opportunities; coordinating business generation activities; developing customised, targeted sales strategies.
  • Create and implement comprehensive sales plans aligned with the company's business objectives to drive revenue growth in the logistics division.
  • Direct, optimise and coordinate full order cycle.
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance, training, and leadership to the sales team, ensuring they meet and exceed their targets.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential clients, new markets, and business growth opportunities in logistics.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and partners to ensure long-term business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms for the company while focusing on profitability and customer needs.
  • Track and evaluate the sales team's performance using CRM tools and KPIs, providing feedback and adjusting strategies to meet targets.
  • Work closely with operations, finance, and customer service departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Create pricing strategies and tailored proposals that meet client needs while ensuring profitability.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the companys logistics services and build industry connections.


Knowledge:

  • Ability to negotiate and maintain relationships with transporters and brokers
  • Understanding logistics and transportation processes, specifically in industrial supply chains (e.g., steel plants)
