What we're looking for

As we develop our product workstreams at pace – having a robust design system at the core of our solutions is critical to our success. We are therefore looking to hire a Senior visual designer to join our existing Visual Design team – to help with the creation, management and documentation of our design system and support the product designers who use it.

This person should see the world through components and figma, be passionate about the detail and be comfortable discussing and documenting the purpose of components and patterns to help educate teams around the world on how to use our design system. Communication both written and oral is a key aspect of this role.
 

The role is a great opportunity for someone wanting to broaden their UI knowledge and expertise.
 


What you’ll do

The right candidate will be involved in a range of activities:

Taking on requirements for new components: doing research and discovery on component best practice, discussing use cases with teams and eventually (if required) creating new components in Figma for re-use Create clear documentation for a design system, that is visually compelling and simple for teams to understand — so others know which components and patterns to use and when. Working with front end developers to ensure consistency between our designed and built components. Help to maintain an existing large figma library – rolling out updates as Figma releases new features, bug fixes and enhancements to existing components. Work closely and collaboratively with Design Leadership, Product Designers and PO’s to ensure we’re working towards a common goal and milestones are met. Supporting product designers with user journeys and flows when required Keeping their finger on the pulse on all things visual design – tools, accessibility, new patterns and design system trends from the outside world. Support pitch teams with assets (illustrations or UI mockups) when required.

What you’ll need to apply

It’s important that candidates have evidence of work to show prior to interview , with at least one of the following:

Experience in Figma is a must. Evidence of systematic design thinking rather than bespoke design work in their work. Must have worked on or managed design systems in a past role. Clear portfolio that shows strong communication and rationale Responsive product experience is an advantage. Vector illustration skills or asset creation a bonus.
