As the Credit Manager you will be responsiblefor overseeing the credit and collections process for the FairmontMumbai ensuring timely payments from guests and maintaining strongfinancial controls. You will play a critical role in managing thehotels accounts receivable portfolio mitigating credit risks andoptimizing cash flow.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • CreditAssessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness ofindividual guests and corporate clients by analyzing credit reportsfinancial statements payment histories and other relevantinformation to determine appropriate credit limits andterms.
  • Credit PolicyDevelopment: Develop and implement credit policiesand procedures in accordance with company guidelines and industrybest practices ensuring compliance with legal and regulatoryrequirements.
  • CreditMonitoring: Monitor accounts receivable agingreports regularly to identify delinquent accounts review creditlimits and take appropriate actions to minimize bad debtexposure.
  • CollectionsManagement: Coordinate with the collections team tofollow up on overdue accounts initiate collection efforts andnegotiate payment arrangements with customers while maintainingpositive relationships.
  • DisputeResolution: Investigate and resolve billingdiscrepancies disputes and other issues related to guest invoicesin a timely and professional manner collaborating with internaldepartments and external parties asneeded.
  • Cash FlowOptimization: Implement strategies to acceleratecash collections reduce days sales outstanding (DSO) and improvecash flow forecasting accuracy contributing to the hotels financialperformance objectives.
  • CustomerRelations: Build and maintain strong relationshipswith guests corporate clients and internal stakeholders tofacilitate prompt payment processing resolve billing inquiries andenhance overall customersatisfaction.
  • Credit RiskMitigation: Identify and assess credit risksassociated with new and existing customers implement riskmitigation measures and recommend appropriate credit insurance orguarantee solutions whennecessary.
  • Reporting andAnalysis: Prepare regular reports and analysis oncredit and collections performance including aging analysis baddebt provisions and collection effectiveness metrics for managementreview anddecisionmaking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsdegree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or relatedfield; Masters degree or professional certification (e.g. CFA CMA)preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience incredit management or accounts receivable management preferably inthe hospitality industry or a relatedfield.
  • Strong knowledge of credit riskassessment methodologies credit laws andregulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysiscash flow management and credit scoringmodels.
  • Excellent communication negotiation andproblemsolving skills.
  • Ability to workindependently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpacedenvironment.
  • Proficiency in accounting softwareMicrosoft Excel and other relevantapplications.
