What is the Client Reporting Manager responsible for?

Alcentra, recently acquired by Benefit Street Partners ("BSP"), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Franklin Resources, Inc. that, together with its various subsidiaries, operates as Franklin Templeton. The BSP/Alcentra combined organization is a leading credit-focused alternative asset management firm with approximately $77 billion in assets under management. Established in 2008, the BSP platform manages funds for institutions, high-net-worth and retail investors across various strategies including: private/opportunistic debt, liquid loans, high yield, special situations, long-short liquid credit and commercial real estate debt. Established in 2002, the Alcentra platform manages funds for institutions, high-net-worth and retail investors with a focus on the sub-investment grade debt capital markets in Europe and the U.S. Their objective is to deliver strong, risk-adjusted returns that are less correlated, through a complementary suite of traditional and alternative credit strategies. In pursuing this objective, their investment strategy and approach to credit selection are based on intensive fundamental research and credit analysis, combined with active portfolio management to minimize credit losses. 

The individual in this role will be responsible for Client Reporting, with an initial focus on the Alcentra Client Reports. The ideal candidate will have investment management client reporting experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills and experience of working with third party vendors. Ability to lead a team of Client Reporting IC’s and ability to manage the process independently / with minimal oversight, including escalations. This individual will partner closely with Portfolio Analytics, Technology, Investment Relations, and Business Development.

Helps to develop and execute strategic and operational plans for the department on the ground; Owns development and implementation of business solutions; and actualizes/drives change adoption and acceptance for area of accountability. Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to achieve objectives. Provides area-specific expertise.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Client Reporting Manager?

Oversee end-to-end process: oversee the end-to-end production and distribution of standard client reports, covering the inputs required, production by the third party, fixing of issues, approval of final reports, and distribution via email or the client portal.

Manage new requests: manage new standard client report requests, compare to standard offering and facilitate the internal agreement on how best to service.

Manage template changes: manage any ad hoc changes to the standard templates, including the regular budget / capacity for these changes with the third party.

Quality control: conduct regular quality control reviews of standard client reports and manage any additional approvals when certain components change e.g. compliance approval for disclaimer changes.

Component and document management: manage the internal components (text, data) that go into client reports and the business logic to keep these updated and ensure the latest versions of reports are available to relevant stakeholders.

Vendor management: oversee the day-to-day relationship with the client reporting vendor, with the goal of optimizing vendor performance, maintaining a strong partnership and adherence to standards, and coordinating improvements.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Investment related – IMC/IOC or equivalent.

BA/BSc degree or equivalent

8+ years’ experience in the Investment management industry with 5+ years relevant experience

Experience in a combined client, operations and technology environment.

Experience of working with third party vendors and their integration with internal technology

Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Strong Vendor Management skills

Vision Fi knowledge desirable

Work Shift Timing - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
