We are looking for a Technical Writer to create and publish high-quality documentation for users of our Monotype Fonts product. You will join a team of tech writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our product efficient and easier to use. To succeed in this role you need to have a passion and experience in producing user-centric content that is clear, concise, and relevant. You need to be creative and collaborative in working with a worldwide network of writers, engineers, product managers, and customer success experts. You need to have a desire for continual learning and a strong set of core skills to develop and deliver content that helps our customers understand and get the most value out of our product. In this role, you will be working on our help center content and product documentation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements

• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience

• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, help center articles, and developer guides • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications .

• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities

• Create and maintain the help center content

What we’re looking for:

• Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation

• University degree in computer science, technical communication or equivalent.

• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures

• Excellent written skills in English

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other technical authoring tools (such as Madcap Flare)

• Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development

• Understand and advocate for technical documentation best practices and standards

• Excellent English writing skills and ability to write for translations. Knowledge of any other language is a plus.

• Experience in writing content for end-user and SaaS applications including how-to instructions, conceptual topics, tool tips for UI, and reference information

• Ability to work cross-functionally with UX Designers, Customer Support Engineers, and Software Engineers

• Knowledge of integrating content development best practices with engineering methodologies such as Agile and Kanban

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

• Experience in writing and maintaining help center content. Knowledge of the Intercom platform is a plus.

• Knowledge of topic-based authoring and information typing

• Basic knowledge of web design and HTML will be preferrable

• Experience in technical authoring tool such as Madcap Flare is preferred .
