Job Description

Duties and responsibilities of Lead APAC Payroll Analyst

  • Execute the established plan on payroll procedures, schedules, and controls to provide timely and accurate payroll
  • Coordinate collecting and processing payroll source documents and ensure they are complete, accurate, and properly authorized for payments to employees and 3rd parties.
  • Coordinate with the internal stakeholders and prepare the manual inputs for equity, commission, and variable pay.
  • Ensure timely distribution of payroll payments and payslips to employees on scheduled paydays. 
  • Identify, escalate, track, and resolve payment-related issues with cross-functional partners.
  • Serve as an additional line of defense to catch and prevent payment errors and loss.
  • Organize, secure, and retain all mandatory payroll source documents by respective European authorities' laws and regulations.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for all payroll (gross to net) and equity transactions, including the compilation of journals and submission in the accounting ERP.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of all Company policies and guidelines and guarantee full compliance with government regulations.
  • Prepare and present payroll variance analysis and headcount analysis (at pay-code, cost center, and GL level) 
  • Assist with year-end reporting for Europe countries when required. Submit timely and accurate responses to appropriate requests for payroll information or reports.
  • Enforce all payroll controls required to eliminate erroneous, fictitious, or excessive payments throughout the payroll system.
  • Respond quickly and accurately, with professionally composed emails, to internal employee payroll via payroll tickets. Perform research, resolve data issues or missing information, and facilitate communication between HR and the employee.

Qualifications

 

  • Master or bachelor degree with a minimum of 7+ years experience in Indian payroll operations, preferably in a multi-national company having a minimum headcount of 2,000 employees.
  • High level of understanding of payroll procedures, laws, taxes, compliances, and best practices
  • Curious, focused, and detail-oriented. Able to influence without authority. Relentless in driving to closure and building strong relationships
  • Analytic thinker, ability to map connections by looking for background information or by comparing practical examples.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
