Roles and Responsibilities

Drafting reply to SCN issued by AO/ ACIT/DCIT for corporate & TDS notices & representation before Income Tax authority. Representation & closure of open corporate & TDS Income Tax assessments, Drafting & filing appeals before CIT (A), getting appeal filed before ITAT, Writ petition before High Court etc. Optimizing Effective Tax rate (ETR) of the company Coordinating with statutory auditors ensuring finalization of Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing reports . Preparation and finalization of Income Tax computation and advance tax computations and payment of advance tax and self-assessment in time Preparation and filing of Income Tax Return, TP Return and Master file in time Review of working of Monthly TDS and ensuring deposit and filing of Quarterly TDS Return/TCS Return/Form 15H and dispatching of TDS certificate. Ensuring filling of correction statement and handling day to day queries related to TDS/ corporate tax. Review of quarterly Audit data and getting them closed from auditors with no issues. Ensuring Foreign Remittances are in time (including royalty remittance to Dominos, Dunkin International and Popeye) Analysis of POEM and suggestion to ensure that International Wholly owned subsidiaries/ JVs of the Company dont form POEM in India Ensuring corporate compliance w.r.t. Income Tax like filing of Annual Corporate Income Tax returns for WOS outside India Reasonability report for all expense incurred in company w.r.t. TDS compliance Envisaging tax saving opportunities across company, especially for transaction between JFL-India with other OWS outside India & bring efficiency

TDS

Review of monthly Deposition of TDS.

a. Review of preparation of reconciliation between TB and GL for ensuring no variances.

b. Getting working reviewed from GM & above well before deposition date.

Opinion on nature of services for all vendors for which opinion is sought by the business teams and getting linking of TDS rate and section in the ERP. Ensuring no default in TDS deposition, TDS return filing and Dispatch of TDS certificates. Keeping update on various changes in TDS law and taking necessary steps to comply the same.

Other Direct Tax related work

Ensuring completion of Tax audit and Transfer Pricing as per statutory timelines Representing company before Tax authority w.r.t. income tax assessments ( Faceless/ Physical) including TP assessment. Updating Income Tax notice tracker and tax file for all notices received. Reconciliation & review of 26AS for TDS to be claimed in the ITR. Coordinating with Internal & statutory auditors & submission of relevant data & closure without any observation. Preparation & submission of TDS reasonability report for all expense GL on which TDS is applicable. Day today advisory to different departments across Company/ Group Guidance to team/ other departments for Budgets, latest updates, Notifications, circulars to ensure there is no non compliance Filing of APA and compliance thereof to avoid international litigation between group companies

Compliances & Effective tax rate for international subsidiaries

Exposure of International Taxation specially Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal Study & analysis of law of the WOS outside India and explore tax saving opportunities Ensuring tax compliances outside India by the respective tax teams and share/ suggest inputs wherein tax team need support Review of tax litigation status of WOS outside India
