Job Purpose

The role holder leads the Payroll function for the organization. He/she will drive process improvements to meet internal and external service delivery expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead payroll functions that includes end to end payroll operations from employee master creation, salary release, reimbursement accounting with GL scrutiny and P&L analysis
  • Responsible to review and release salary to the employee bank account
  • Responsible to review and release reimbursement of travel and other business related expenses
  • Share the budget vs actual variance report to management with the impact to P&L account
  • Preparation of CXO dashboard with functional level travel expenses incurred during the month and YTD
  • Share inputs to business partnering teams on a monthly basis and annual basis for SBP preparation
  • Explore, identify and implement automation / simplification of existing process to save time and manual efforts
  • Adherence to IC COE controls and report with closure for any exceptions identified
  • Completion of compliance reports / checklists for statutory compliance related matters. Ensuring timely payment of statutory dues related to employees, timely submission of statutory returns, and dissemination of statutory forms to employees
  • SPOC to all the functional head and HRBP for any inputs related to payroll functions
  • Mentor and guide the team to achieve their deliverables with more process improvements
  • Responsible for coordinating with direct tax consultants to get the statutory filing completed within the due dates to avoid tax audit observations
  • Responsible for handling employee escalations and resolving the issue without any loss to the employee. Liaise with employees (including CXOs) to resolve queries
  • To evaluate the performance of the payroll processing consultants on a monthly basis and get the vendor bills settled
  • Review of audit schedules, coordinating with internal and external statutory auditors to ensure completion of audits without any observations

Experience

  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in payroll services preferably in payroll management
  • Knowledge in income tax laws
  • Knowledge of PF, bonus, gratuity and other laws related to employees
  • Good communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to handle big data
  • Working knowledge in Google applications
  • Working knowledge in MS Office tools such as MS Excel, MS Word
  • Hands on experience on SAP (preferably)
