Role Summary

Lead the Pega Centre of Excellence (CoE) at SLGS, leading large enterprise initiatives on Enterprise Case Management (ECM) platform for workflow and case management solutions across Sun Life, including SLF Canada various lines of business.

Core Responsibilities

Provide design and development thought leadership and work closely with fellow team members and across business and technical project dimensions, solving enterprise-wide complex business requirements and make informed decisions. Talent management – acquisition, development, and retention for Pega COE at SLGS Demonstrate forward thinking around where the business is going and how technology can support these efforts. Build trust relationships with senior level technical and business teams and communicate at all levels of the organization’s enterprise. Develop deep knowledge of the capabilities of the Pega Platform and Pega Strategic Applications and deliver these capabilities to maximize speed & efficiency. Collaborate with architecture team to create and maintain standards for the overall architectural vision that emphasizes a reuse strategy. Map existing legacy workflow & case management solutions to the new enterprise roadmap and develop strategies for renewal aligned to business strategies. Improve operational efficiencies through best use and implementation of industry-leading case management capabilities and increased automation through chatbots, robotics’, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor internal controls and governance for case management workflow. Understand the Pega guardrails and promote process designs and best practices that keep teams within those guardrails. Govern the overarching Pega support model and provide recommendations for continual improvement of the supporting infrastructure environments. Organizing and planning work according to business and IT needs by defining objectives and anticipating needs and priorities, taking a big picture perspective, making strategic decisions Collaborate and coordinate strategies, solutions and implementations across various business and ES partners, and vendors. Attend and participate in project steering/governance meetings with key stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities, align solutions, provide, and manage senior management program updates. Work closely with ECM CoE leadership to properly ensure successful implementation of new solutions as well as integrations with legacy solutions. Thoroughly understand the workflow / case management tools Sun Life currently uses. Evaluate the limitations of our current platforms and the needs of our clients and business going forward from these platforms. Leverage their knowledge of workflow and case management tools and platforms throughout the marketplace and establish vendor relationships. Successfully partner with the business and ES leaders and appropriate external vendors to select and develop the right solution. Partner with the business and ES to properly implement upgrades and new platforms to meet the evolving business and client needs. Partner with Sun Life business and technology groups to design, develop and implement PegaSystems, our Enterprise Case Management platform implementation. Identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities, including how to increase speed of delivery and how to leverage DevOps and reuse strategy, govern and development best practices, and manage items that are common across all systems in scope.

Eligibility

15+ years of leadership experience in Technology 2+ years of Program Management and people management experience Thoroughly understand the workflow / case management tools Sun Life currently uses Experience with transformation strategy, approach, and planning Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and team building skills Excellent relationship management skills Excellent problem analysis and debugging skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - ability to express ideas, thoughts and information so that it can be understood by various audiences and meets the customers' needs Strong organizational and time management skills Multi-tasker full of great energy and attitude to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment University or college degree or equivalent experience  Prior experience managing direct reports in a cross matrixed or virtual environment 

Skills

Ability to lead through influence in a complex and evolving environment, to meet challenging timelines and organizational goals, bringing various parties to a common action plan that is mutually beneficial for all. Ability to identify commonality across projects to ensure streamlining of work, consistency, and maintainability of solutions. Seasoned cross business group and business unit collaboration and strong relationship building experience, with business partners, IT groups and external vendors. Diligent about enforcing standards, best practices and able to communicate benefits to stakeholders. Executive level presentation skills (written and oral) to effectively communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
